WHY VOICES OF THE OCEAN MATTER
Coastal communities and civil society groups must help shape ocean policy because they face the direct impacts of climate change, pollution, overfishing, and poor governance. Including fishers, traders, women, and youth grounds global decisions in local needs and turns ocean commitments into practical gains for ecosystems, livelihoods, food security, and resilience.
